Groundwater Monitoring & Piezometer Well Services
Hitech Drilling Engineers provides groundwater monitoring and piezometer well installation services for industrial, infrastructure, commercial, institutional and other projects where systematic monitoring of groundwater levels and aquifer conditions is required.
A piezometer / observation well is a purpose-built monitoring well used to measure groundwater levels and, where required, to facilitate groundwater-quality sampling. Monitoring may be carried out manually or through automatic digital water-level recording systems, depending on project requirements.
Our services cover the complete field execution associated with piezometer wells – including site assessment, drilling, well construction, installation of casing and screen assemblies, development, monitoring arrangements and related technical documentation.
Our piezometer & monitoring services
- Piezometer / observation well drilling
- Groundwater monitoring well construction
- Groundwater-level monitoring
- Manual water-level measurement
- Provision for automatic water-level monitoring systems
- Multi-depth aquifer monitoring where required
- Periodic groundwater monitoring programmes

Applications
Industrial Projects
Monitoring groundwater conditions around industrial facilities and groundwater abstraction areas.
Infrastructure Projects
Groundwater-level observation for major construction and infrastructure developments.
Environmental Monitoring
Establishing groundwater monitoring points for baseline and periodic assessment.
Groundwater Management
Monitoring changes in groundwater levels associated with abstraction, recharge and seasonal variations.
Regulatory & Compliance Requirements
Construction and monitoring of observation wells where required under applicable groundwater permissions, project conditions or regulatory requirements.
Recharge Performance
Observing the response of the aquifer to rainwater-harvesting and artificial-recharge structures.
Site-specific monitoring
The design and depth of a piezometer should be determined according to the monitoring objective, hydrogeological conditions and the aquifer zone to be observed. For projects requiring multiple monitoring points, different depths can be considered to observe different groundwater regimes.
Where automatic monitoring is required, Digital Water Level Recorders (DWLR) and telemetry systems can provide high-frequency groundwater-level data and facilitate remote data transmission.
Our approach
- Site assessment & objective – understanding the monitoring purpose, site layout, abstraction points and hydrogeological conditions.
- Piezometer design – selecting location, depth, diameter and screen position for the aquifer zone to be observed.
- Drilling & construction – drilling the observation well and installing casing, screen, gravel pack and sanitary seal.
- Development – developing the piezometer so that it responds accurately to aquifer conditions.
- Monitoring arrangement – protective head-works and cap, manual measurement point or provision for DWLR / telemetry.
- Documentation – well construction details and records to support the project’s monitoring programme.
