How drilling a borehole works
Successful drilling involves much more than reaching a particular depth. It requires understanding the site and geology, selecting an appropriate methodology and tools, recording drilling information and properly developing the well.
Drilling
The rig drills deep into the ground through soil, weathered zones and rock to reach water-bearing formations.
Casing
Casing pipes and screens are installed in the hole to hold the borehole open and let water in from productive zones.
Development & Pump Installation
The well is developed for silt-free discharge, tested for yield, and a suitable submersible pump is installed.
Water to Surface
The pump brings clean groundwater to the surface for industrial, commercial or institutional use.
